My question is, do I need a pre-departure test with Ryanair to simply board their plane? They just keep directing me to the Greece. Its so frustrating! There are no additional requirements for the airline. If it says no test as double vaccinated then they will check your proof of double vaccination. You do not need a test to enter the aircraft.

Ryanair’s response was, basically, ‘it’s up to the passenger to find out and comply’. How many people would call airlines to ask about covid requirements when all the information is on the airlines websites?

It sounds like Which clutching at straws again, trying to keep themselves relevant. Ryanair was right. Can they expect their agents to be experts in the ever changing covid entry requirements for every country they operate to? They shouldn’t need to be when the information is in black and white on the website. I agree Ryanair are right. Any requirement for entry be it covid or visa or something else is and always has been the passengers responsibility.

As others have said, the Airlines don’t make the rules, but enforcement has been delegated to them with the threat of large fines if they transport someone whose Covid documents don’t comply.
